Founder Story
Our founder, Crystal, did not come from the beauty industry. There was no formal training, no cosmetology background, no laboratory. What there was — was a question that refused to go away.
Why, with everything the natural world offers, is so little of it in the products we're told to trust?
It started with research. Deep, obsessive, patient research into botanicals — their histories, their traditional uses across cultures and centuries. Into what neem actually does to a scalp. Into why marshmallow root has been used for skin and hair across the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe for thousands of years. Into the remarkable brightening properties of licorice root that Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine understood long before the beauty industry acknowledged them. Into soursop — known across Caribbean households not as a superfood trend, but as something grandmothers simply knew worked.

There are alternatives. We use them. Every formula at Crystal Beaute is and will remain palm oil-free, not because it is easy — but because it is right.
