Red ochre — iron oxide in its most elemental form — was the first pigment humanity ever used. Ground and pressed into the walls of caves, worked into the skin before ceremony, carried as a mark of life and intention across every culture that left a record. The color in Crimson Grove is that same mineral, that same deep, warm red. Nothing has changed about what it is. Only what surrounds it.
This is a bar built for skin that deserves to be genuinely fed. Rice bran oil — light, deeply nourishing, and rich in vitamin E and gamma-oryzanol — brings a softness to the formula that heavier oils cannot replicate. Cocoa butter and shea butter anchor the moisture, settling into skin and holding. Sunflower oil keeps the formula balanced across all skin types. Castor oil builds the lather into something slow, dense, and worth staying in.
Kaolin clay draws out what the skin no longer needs, quietly and without compromise. Sodium lactate ensures the bar cures hard and lasts — a firm, generous bar from the first use to the last. And red iron oxide gives Crimson Grove its color: a deep, warm crimson that is entirely mineral, entirely honest, and entirely its own.
The fragrance moves the way the color suggests — layered, unhurried, and full of depth. Red Iron Oxide (CI 77491): Iron oxide in its red form — the same mineral pigment pressed into cave walls by the first humans who needed to mark what mattered. Cosmetic-grade red iron oxide is skin-safe, stable, and entirely free of synthetic dyes or heavy metals. The crimson you see in this bar is the mineral itself, used honestly and with full awareness of what it has always meant: something worth attending to.
Cocoa Butter:Pressed from the cacao bean, cocoa butter is one of the most stable and skin-compatible fats available. Rich in stearic and oleic acids, it forms a protective layer that seals in moisture and softens skin over time. Its use in skincare stretches back centuries across West Africa and the Caribbean — long before it appeared in commercial formulations. Here it provides the depth and staying power the formula requires.
Kaolin Clay: The gentlest of clays. Draws out excess oil and impurities without disrupting the skin barrier — making it the right choice for everyday cleansing, even on sensitive skin. Present in Crimson Grove to refine and clarify without ever undermining the nourishment the rest of the formula provides.

How to Use
How to Use
- Wet skin and bar with warm water.
- Lather between hands or directly on skin — the bar will produce a rich, creamy foam carrying the full depth of the fragrance.
- Massage gently into face or body. Let the clay do its work — no rush.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
- Follow with your Crystal Beaute Co. body oil or butter to seal in moisture while skin is still slightly damp.
For best results: Store your bar on a draining soap dish between uses. A dry bar lasts longer — and a long-lasting bar is a worthy one.
